Napa Valley Hot Tubs FAQ
Some hot tubs require 240V. If you choose this type of hot tub and don’t currently have 240V electrical at your home, then you will need a certified electrician to upgrade your electrical system for installation. If you prefer a hot tub that can be plugged into your standard electrical, then a Plug and Play hot tub can do just that.
You should drain, clean, and refill your hot tub about once every three months. You can think of it as a seasonal task. Of course, if your hot tub is getting some heavy use, then draining it more often may be necessary. Conversely, if your hot tub hasn’t been seeing a lot of use lately you may be able to get away with waiting a bit longer, provided that you’ve been staying on top of proper water care.

This answer varies a bit from one hot tub to the next due to personal preferences. Some soakers love a really HOT hot tub experience, while others prefer something more moderate. During the warmer months, some hot tub owners even like to take the temperature down a little below body temperature for a refreshing soak. Generally speaking though, many hot tub users enjoy a setting between 100⁰ F and 102⁰ F.
About once a week you should remove your hot tub filter and rinse it with water from your hose. Make sure to gently move the pleats apart to wash away debris that has collected between them. Then, give the filter time to dry thoroughly before you put it back in. About every three months (when you are draining and refilling your hot tub), give your filter a more deep-down cleaning. Soak your filter in a bucket filled with a cleaner made specifically for filters (mixed as indicated by the manufacturer). At Napa Valley Hot Tubs we have everything you need to keep your spa in top shape. Stop by and see us.
Reality is that hot tubs are heavy. In addition, if you have a 240V hot tub that has been specially wired for the area it’s in, it’s best not to move it. If you choose to move it anyways, you will need a professional moving crew and electrician so that everything can be done safely. However, if you have a Plug and Play hot tub, your options for moving it are much more open.
